Privacy Policy

Our customers open confidential client models in our add-ins. So the most important thing in this policy is what we never collect — and we have built the products so that we could not collect it even if we wanted to.
Your spreadsheets never leave your computer. FinExplorer and FinAudit run entirely inside your own copy of Excel. Cell values, formulas, sheet names, file names and file paths are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. There is no telemetry, no usage analytics and no crash reporting inside the add-ins.
The only thing they ever send is a licence check, described in section 2.
1. Who is responsible
valuation.cl, an independent software business based in Santiago, Chile, is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: support@valuation.cl.
2. What the add-ins send — the complete list
When the Software checks your licence or starts your trial, it sends exactly three things to our server at api.valuation.cl, over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection:

That is the entire payload. It contains nothing about the workbook you have open. Our server also records the IP address of the request in ordinary server logs and in a short-lived rate limiter, to prevent abuse and brute-force attempts against licence keys.
3. What we store on our licence server
- Your email address, which Lemon Squeezy passes to us when you buy, so we can send you your key and contact you about your licence.
- Your licence record: the key, the product, the plan, its status, the purchase and expiry dates, and the payment provider’s subscription and customer identifiers.
- The device identifiers that have activated the licence, with the first and last time each was seen.
- A short history of licence events (issued, emailed, renewed, revoked), so we can answer support questions.
- For free trials: the device identifier and the trial’s start and expiry dates.
4. What we never have
We do not hold your payment card details — those go directly to Lemon Squeezy and we never see them. We do not hold your spreadsheets, your clients’ names, or anything about the models you analyse. We do not build behavioural profiles, and we do not sell, rent or share personal data with anyone for their own marketing.
5. The website
valuation.cl serves static pages. It sets no advertising cookies and uses no third-party analytics or tracking. Our hosting provider keeps standard web-server logs (IP address, time, page requested, user agent) for security and troubleshooting.
6. Why we are allowed to process this (legal bases)
- Performance of a contract — issuing, delivering and validating your licence, and providing support.
- Legitimate interests — enforcing the seat limit, preventing licence-key abuse and fraud, and keeping our service secure and working.
- Legal obligation — keeping the records we are required to keep. Note that because Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record, the sales and tax records for your purchase are held by Lemon Squeezy, not by us.
7. Who else processes data for us

Each acts on our instructions for the purposes above. They have their own privacy policies covering the data they hold as controllers in their own right.
8. International transfers
We are in Chile, our server is in Brazil, and two of our providers are in the United States. If you are in the EEA or the UK, that means your data is processed outside your country. We rely on the data-protection terms offered by those providers as part of their standard service agreements. If you would like more detail about a specific provider, write to us and we will point you to their current terms.
9. How long we keep it

10. Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. Write to support@valuation.cl from the address you purchased with, and we will respond within 30 days at the latest.
Two honest limits on deletion:
- While a licence is active, we cannot delete the licence record without terminating the licence — it is what makes your key work. Tell us if that is what you want.
- We keep free-trial device records for their full retention period even on request, because deleting them would defeat the one-trial-per-device rule. This record is a device identifier and two dates; it contains no contact details.
Your billing data is held by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record; requests about payment records should go to them, and we will help you reach the right place.
11. Security
Traffic between the add-ins and our server, and between your browser and our website, is encrypted with HTTPS. Licence keys are validated server-side; administrative access to the licence server is protected by a secret token; payment webhooks are cryptographically signed and verified before we act on them. No system is perfectly secure, but the most sensitive material — your models — is never in our hands to begin with.
12. Children
The Software is a professional tool sold to adults. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
13. Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the current version. If a change materially affects you, we will email active licence holders at least 14 days before it takes effect.

We are a small independent business and do not publish our registered details on the open web. Our full legal name and registration details are available on request — just email us. They are also held by Lemon Squeezy, who verified them and who is the seller of record named on your invoice.
